We start from Enshi, one of the last and deepest impoverished areas in China. Even today, 20% of families have an annual income of less than $120, with half of them due to illness or disability.
This area only got highways and railways after 2010. It is very remote, located in the Wuling Mountains with rolling hills and a forest coverage rate of 70.14%. However, as one door closes, another opens; it is near the Thirty Degrees North Latitude, which is also known as the Coffee Bean Belt. This region is not only suitable for growing coffee beans but also for tea cultivation in the high mountains.
