Story

Vine Tea from Enshi’s Mountains

Laifeng County — a nationally recognized core vine tea growing region in the Wuling Mountains, and home to our cooperative’s dedicated vine tea village — is where this tea is grown. Laifeng vine tea (*Ampelopsis grossedentata*) is harvested in spring and summer from young stems and leaves, then lightly fixed and slow-dried. During processing, a soft, silvery frost can appear on the leaf surface — natural dihydromyricetin — the tea’s hallmark active compound. In the cup: gentle bitterness turns to honey-like sweetness; aroma shows honey, chamomile, fresh herb, and light woody; the finish is clean and mineral.
