Handwoven Xilankapu Tea Cloth
Handcrafted by Tujia Artisan Sisters Workshop
This isn't just a tea cloth—it's a tapestry of history and tradition.
Woven by the Tan sisters workshop, recognized inheritors of the Tujia brocade art, each piece is created using techniques passed down through generations over five centuries.
Known as Xilankapu, meaning "flower-patterned quilt" in the Tujia language, this textile was traditionally crafted by Tujia women as part of their dowries, symbolizing blessings and stories woven into every thread. With over 200 distinct patterns, each design reflects elements of nature, daily life, and auspicious symbols.
The intricate weaving process involves 12 meticulous steps on ancient wooden waist looms. Uniquely, artisans weave from the back side of the fabric, memorizing complex patterns without visual guides. It's a testament to their exceptional skill and dedication.
Enshi Clay Tea Bowl
Enshi red earth tells tales of centuries past. Tujia artisans mold clay into vessels as well as their stories.
Each bowl embraces the natural imperfections that make every piece unique. The rich, selenium-laden red clay of Enshi has been used for generations, not just for its durability, but for its deep connection to the land and its people.
These bowls have graced tables during festivals, family gatherings, and daily meals.

Our tea comes from Enshi, a region known for its selenium-rich soil and eco-friendly, organic farming practices.
Enshi is the largest herbal-growing region in Central China and one of the earliest areas in China to fully embrace sustainable tea production.
Its commitment to environmental protection and natural farming methods ensures that every sip of tea is not only flavorful but also eco-conscious.
At FlowInverseTea, we take pride in delivering freshness.
Our Jade Dew retains its vibrancy for up to 18 months, while the Lichuan Black Tea preserves its distinctive qualities for an impressive 36 months.
However, the freshness can be influenced by external factors and how you store the tea. For the best experience, store your tea in a cool, dark place and ensure proper sealing to maintain its optimal flavor profile.
Our tea is mostly harvested in spring, typically before the Qingming Festival, which is considered the best season for spring tea. After harvesting, the tea is stored based on its specific type. For example, green tea is refrigerated to maintain its freshness. To enjoy the freshest tea, we recommend placing your pre-order in spring.
Most orders in the U.S. ship from the Maple Valley, USA, but some may ship directly from China depending on stock availability.
For other regions, we ship directly from China. We take care of all customs duties and are FDA-registered in the U.S.
Proper storage is key to preserving the essence of our teas. Here are a few tips for optimal tea storage:
Keep it away from moisture.
Store it in a dark and dry place.
Use an air-tight container, made of metal, tin, or ceramic, to protect against external elements.
Our tea packages also feature an airtight design, making them suitable for tea storage.
