Our black tea comes from the core production area of Enshi black tea: Lichuan. Most of our black tea is uncertified organic because the area is still very remote and impoverished. The farmers are unaware of how to obtain Western organic certification and lack resources and financial means to do so. They are simply a group of tea farmers in a remote mountainous area selling their tea to others.
The tea masters come from Master Qiu's team. He is a true tea farmer and a master tea maker.
In terms of tea cultivation, he has developed unique planting methods tailored to Lichuan's soil environment and cultivated specific Lichuan black tea tree varieties. In terms of tea production, he invented a special electric withering trough to solve the technical problem of uneven withering in black tea.
Nowadays, we are working with Qiu to improve the lives of Lichuan's tea farmers through tea. We not only guide them in tea cultivation, picking, and production, but also ensure they receive fair prices for their fresh leaves.
For example, the best Lichuan black tea fresh leaves, under extremely strict picking standards, can only yield a few dozen grams in a morning. We and Qiu purchase these leaves at $80 per kilo, far higher than the market price, ensuring the farmers' income and interests.
